Know more about the Community Foundation
The need for Community Foundation for Lancashire was established in 2004, when sister foundation, Community Foundation for Merseyside began distributing grants in Lancashire. The success of grant programmes like Local Network Fund for Children and Young People, coupled with consultations with local community leaders demonstrated that there was a clear need for the Community Foundation for Lancashire. Since then over £6.6 million has been given to local causes.
In 2007 we became an independent charity with our own governing documents and charity number and, having worked with over 650 community groups across Lancashire, have become one of the region's leading grant makers.
We continue to go from strength to strength working with a wide range of contacts such as local businesses and public sector bodies to ensure that all funds available for Lancashire are maximised and distributed in a cost effective and strategic manner.
Our donors can specify how they want their money to be distributed by setting criteria. Whether the donor is concerned with a specific geographical area or cause, we can give them the best advice on maximising the impact of their donation.
We have developed excellent grant making and monitoring processes to ensure grant money meets real identified need and is fully accounted for.
Community Foundaiton for Lancashire shares some back office systems with the Community Foundation for Merseyside allowing us to keep costs and fees to a minimum whilst distributing funds as efficiently as possible.
