Community Foundation for Lancashire Chair receives OBE.

The Chairman of Community Foundation for Lancashire, Peter Robinson, has been given an OBE for his work with businesses and the community in East Lancashire.

The Former High Sheriff of Lancashire who set up the Blackburn Partnership was instrumental in establishing the Community Foundation for Lancashire in 2007.

Mr Robinson has worked tirelessly to get the Community Foundation for Lancashire off the ground and the recognition received for this, and other work, was a surprise.

He said: "My reaction when I opened the letter was goodness gracious me. It was completely out of the blue. You soon realise what a great honour it is though.

"I only took a break from banking for three years to start the Blackburn Partnership, but I ended up never going back. I have a passion for people and love Lancashire, so have really enjoyed what I've been doing."

Mr Robinson will continue to use his influence and experience to grow the Community Foundation over the coming years.
