Finance Director (Maternity Cover)
As Finance Director I am responsible for ensuring all the Financial Reporting is accurate and that the information is analysed in order to realise any cost-savings and drive efficiencies within the Foundation. It is crucial that we manage our Investments closely to ensure the best return for our donors and maximise the grants available to the local community.
I started my career at KPMG as an auditor whilst completing my professional qualifications to become a Chartered Accountant and member of the ICAEW. I then moved into Financial Services with RSA (FTSE100) for over 7 years, managing multiple different financial reporting teams and being involved in various process improvement and Finance Transformation projects. My most recent role was as Head of Financial Analysis for a legal spend management consultancy, reviewing the astronomical costs that some Global firms happily accept!
At KPMG I worked on the audits of multiple well known North West businesses, including retailers, manufacturers and race courses. At RSA I was responsible for coordinating and delivering the production and review of all the UK Statutory Accounts…27 in total! I was also the lead analyst on the Finance Transformation project for the Record to Report workstream.
I graduated from the University of Leeds with a First in Management Studies and then completed my ACA professional qualification whilst at KPMG with all first time passes.
I am a very busy mum of two young children and am an active member of the school PTA. I seem to spend my spare time either creating outfits for nursery or organising school fundraising events. Being mathematically-minded comes in handy when you are trying to calculate the amount of wrapping paper needed for 150 selections boxes for Breakfast with Santa!
